1. Presentation
Flatlandes Gravel 2027 is a gravel cycling event taking place on 28 March 2027 in south-west France, co-organised by the non-profit association ROULIBRE (loi 1901), hereinafter “the Organisation”.
Two formats are offered: 100+ km and 200+ km. The event takes place on roads and tracks open to traffic. It values self-reliance, personal commitment, respect for the environment and sharing the way with other users.
2. Eligibility
The event is open to anyone aged 18 or over on the day of the event.
By registering, each participant declares that they:
- are in good physical condition,
- have no medical contraindication to endurance / long-distance cycling,
- take part fully aware of the risks inherent in the discipline (falls, weather, ground conditions, traffic, fatigue, dehydration, etc.).
Participants take part entirely at their own risk.
3. Registration
Registration is online only, from 1 November 2026.
Registration closes on Wednesday 24 March 2027 at 23:59 (unless closed earlier).
The number of participants is limited to 300 per distance (100+ km and 200+ km). The Organisation reserves the right to close registration at any time for organisational, safety or capacity reasons.
A registration is confirmed only after full payment and receipt of a confirmation email. In the event of a payment issue or error, the participant will be contacted to resolve it.
Every registration is personal, firm and final.
4. Cancellation / changes
If a participant cancels, no refund can be guaranteed.
The Organisation reserves the right to change, postpone or cancel the event in the event of force majeure, adverse weather, an administrative decision or for any reason related to participants' safety.
In that case, the terms of any postponement or compensation will be communicated by the Organisation.
5. Equipment and self-reliance
5.1 Mandatory equipment
Each participant must have:
- a bike in perfect working order, suited to gravel riding (gravel bike, MTB or equivalent),
- an approved helmet, worn throughout the event,
- a minimum repair kit (inner tube or equivalent, inflation device, basic tool).
The Organisation reserves the right to refuse the start to any participant whose equipment is deemed unsuitable or dangerous.
5.2 Strongly recommended equipment
Flatlandes Gravel values self-reliance. Participants are strongly advised to bring:
- front and rear lights (even for a daytime start),
- a GPS / navigation device able to load the official track.
The route will be provided as a GPX file. Each participant is responsible for their own navigation and must be able to follow the route on their own.
6. Safety and traffic
The event takes place on roads open to traffic. Each participant undertakes to:
- strictly obey the Highway Code,
- follow the instructions of the organisers and marshals,
- ride carefully and responsibly,
- be courteous to other road users and local residents.
Any dangerous, disrespectful or unsporting behaviour may lead to immediate exclusion without refund.
7. Feed stations and assistance
Feed stations will be set up along the course (locations announced later). Between them, each participant rides self-supported.
Motorised third-party assistance is not organised by Flatlandes. Participants must stay alert to safety and not obstruct traffic.
8. Respect for the environment
Flatlandes Gravel is committed to a responsible approach. Throwing litter on the course is strictly prohibited.
Leaving any litter outside the designated areas may lead to immediate exclusion.
9. Cut-off times
For safety and organisational reasons, cut-off times apply.
9.1 Start
Both distances start together at 08:00.
9.2 Minimum average speed
- 200+ km: minimum average of 20 km/h
- 100+ km: minimum average of 16 km/h
9.3 Estimated finish cut-offs
As an indication, based on the minimum averages above and an 08:00 start:
- 100+ km (16 km/h): estimated maximum time 6 h 15 → finish no later than about 14:15
- 200+ km (20 km/h): estimated maximum time 10 h 00 → finish no later than about 18:00
These times are estimates. The Organisation may adjust the cut-offs depending on conditions (weather, ground conditions, safety constraints, administrative decisions).
9.4 Cut-off at the km 120 feed station (200+ km route)
On the 200+ km format, a feed station is planned around km 120. Participants who are outside the cut-off at this station may be offered (or required, for safety reasons) a faster return route, in particular via the cycle path, to reach the finish safely.
The Organisation reserves the right to end a participant's event if their fatigue, behaviour or delay poses a risk to themselves or others.
10. Insurance and liability
The Organisation holds organiser's civil liability insurance.
Each participant is strongly advised to have personal insurance covering:
- bodily injury,
- civil liability,
- theft of or damage to equipment.
Taking part implies accepting the risks inherent in cycling in an open environment. The Organisation can only be held liable for proven fault directly attributable to it.
11. Image rights
By taking part, each participant authorises the Organisation to use, without financial compensation, the photos and videos taken during Flatlandes Gravel 2027 for communication and promotion, on any medium.
12. Personal data
The information collected at registration is necessary to organise the event. It is processed in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations.
Under the GDPR, each participant has the right to access, rectify and delete their data, on request to the Organisation.
13. Shop purchases (merch)
Shop items (T-shirts, jerseys, caps, stickers…) are paid online; prices are shown in euros including VAT.
No shipping is offered for the time being: purchases can only be collected at the start venue (Salle de Maremne, Tosse), when collecting race packs or on the day of the event, or from our affiliated partners. Collection details are given in the order confirmation email.
14. Acceptance of the rules
Any registration for Flatlandes Gravel 2027 and any purchase on the shop implies full acceptance of these rules and terms of sale.
