Two riders among flowering gorse

About

Flat, but not easy.

Flatlandes is the Landes forest as far as the eye can see, pale sandy tracks between the pines and one simple idea: ride far, ride right, ride together.

An idea shared by two riders, Philippe Lalemant and Mathieu Plessis: making the Landes a gravel land.

The story

Born in the Landes, a stone's throw from Hossegor.

Between the Atlantic and Europe's largest pine forest, south-west France is a unique playground for gravel. Flatlandes was born from the wish to make it a benchmark event, combining adventure, sporting commitment and respect for the land.

The event is organised in partnership with the Roulibre association, which supports Flatlandes on administrative, insurance and regulatory matters.

The spirit

What keeps us riding.

  • 01

    Self-reliance

A GPX track, no waymarking, no support: everyone manages their own navigation, water and pace.

  • 02

    Commitment

Ride fast, but above all ride right. Flatlandes is a demanding ride, not a race at all costs.

  • 03

    The land

Open roads, a forest shared with walkers, riders and hunters: we respect it and leave nothing behind.
